15 Sep 2005 pilot-mailsync 0.9.1 README Maintainer: Jochen Garcke What does it do? pilot-mailsync transfers mail to and from your PalmOS handheld's Mail or VersaMail application. It relies on the libraries installed by pilot-link for the communicating with the Palm. It uses locally-installed sendmail (or equivalent) or SMTP to send mail from the Palm. It uses the c-client library and so is capable of transferring mail to the Palm from a variety of sources, including local mbox and mh mail files, and POP3 and IMAP servers. Notes: * Truncates mail based on Palm setting * Appends Mail app's signature to every outgoing mail * Deletes mail in the Mail app's Deleted category * Deletes mail sent successfully from Mail's Outbox * Can delete mail delivered to handheld * Can delete all Palm mail not moved to Filed * Can sync Filed and Draft folder * Can keep remote mail Seen flags sync'ed with Mail's * Can keep only mails from last days on the palm * Supported sync types (specified in Palm Mail app): + "Send Only" + "Unread Mail" + "Filter" (all searches are case-insensitive) + "All" See docs/config and docs/mailbox for notes on usage and configuration. Use the options delete=on and deleteread=on with care and maybe try on a local copy of your mailfolder. The plugin for J-Pilot is just a simple hack, J-Pilot essentially just calls pilot-mailsync. You should set up your .pilotmailrc so that it works that way you want it with the executable pilot-mailsync. If that works you can use the plugin. No gui or so in J-Pilot, feel free to do that, not high on my list of things to-do. The same goes for the gnome-conduit. If you come across bugs of any size I'd like to hear about them. A mailing list is available here: http://lists.pilot-mailsync.sourcefubar.net/mailman/listinfo/pilot-mailsync pilot-mailsync has publically-accessible bug tracking, which you can find by pointing your browser to the following link http://bugs.sourcefubar.net/ and selecting 'pilot-mailsync' from the upper-right listing. Output: When running, pilot-mailsync prints: / every time a mail is truncated . for every mail delivered to the handheld o for every mail from the mail source already on palm + for every Palm message marked Seen (to match mail source) - for every mail source message marked Seen (to match Palm) K for every Palm message deleted because older than 'keepdays' d for every Palm message deleted because no counterpart on mail source X for every mail on the mail source deleted because deleted on Palm Original developer: Hollis Blanchard Contributors (thanks!): Leif Stephan Allner Alexandre Aractingi Damien Burke David A.
